Terms of Business
Version 2026-10 (draft for review) · 23 October 2026 · New Zealand law
One set of terms, every use of MeetCRM. These are the terms we work on, in plain English. They apply whenever you work with us, buy from us or use MeetCRM, whether or not we've signed anything.

When they apply: always, with or without a signature
We don't want anyone to wonder which terms apply. The answer is the same every time.
One set of terms, every time. These Terms of Business, the Shaved Monkeys Standard Terms and our Privacy page apply to every engagement, quote, proposal, purchase, trial, use of MeetCRM or any of our other products, and any work we start on your instruction. They apply whether or not we've signed an agreement with you. There is no engagement with us that sits outside them.
How you accept them. You accept these terms when you instruct us to do work, accept a quote or proposal, pay one of our invoices, or use MeetCRM or any of our other products or services, including starting a free trial or the demo. Agreeing by email, by accepting a quote online or by clicking to accept is a valid way to make a contract. The Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 (Part 4, electronic transactions) recognises it, and clause 25.10 of the Standard Terms allows electronic signatures.
Three documents, plus your quote. The terms are made up of this page, the Standard Terms (our Master Services Agreement, clauses 1 to 25, and our standard Schedules), and the Privacy page. Your quote, proposal or order records the particulars for your engagement: what we'll do, the price and the timing. Where there's no signed agreement, it takes the place of Schedule 1 and any Statement of Work.
When a signed agreement wins. If we sign an agreement or a Schedule with you, it prevails over these terms only where it expressly says so. Everything it doesn't expressly change stays as set out here and in the Standard Terms.
MeetCRM is software we host: Schedule 5
Schedule 5 (Software licence and hosting) of the Standard Terms applies to MeetCRM. MeetCRM is a Shaved Monkeys product, so it is Model B in that Schedule: you subscribe to it, the product, including any configuration and customisation we make in it, remains ours, and you own your data and content. Schedule 5 also covers where your data is hosted, updates, suspension and how you get your data out when you leave.
Who you deal with: UM Limited trading as Shaved Monkeys
MeetCRM is a Shaved Monkeys product. Whatever you buy or use, you contract with UM Limited, trading as Shaved Monkeys, NZBN 9429030519329, Auckland, New Zealand. MeetCRM is a product name. It is not a separate company and not a separate party to any agreement.
New Zealand law: what the law says, plainly
Our terms are written for businesses. If you're a consumer, the law protects you whatever a contract says.
Business clients: in trade, by agreement. Most of our clients are businesses, and they acquire our services in trade. New Zealand law lets businesses that are both in trade agree, in writing, that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply (section 43), and that sections 9, 12A, 13 and 14(1) of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply (section 5D). That only works where it is fair and reasonable for the parties to be bound by it. Clause 16.5 of the Standard Terms records that agreement, to the extent the law allows.
Consumers: your rights stay yours. If you are a consumer, buying for personal or household use rather than for a business, the contracting-out above does not apply to you. Nothing in these terms or the Standard Terms takes away any right you have that can't be excluded or limited by law, including your guarantees under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and your protections under the Fair Trading Act 1986.
Privacy: the Privacy Act 2020. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. How we do that, where it lives and how to ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion is on our Privacy page. Clause 14 of the Standard Terms covers privacy within an engagement.
Website terms of use: using this website
A few plain rules for meetcrm.app itself. They apply to everyone who visits, client or not.
Use it lawfully. You're welcome to use this website to learn about MeetCRM and get in touch. Please don't use it unlawfully, try to get into parts of it or our systems you're not meant to, or do anything that interferes with it working for others. Anything you send us through a form is handled as described on our Privacy page.
Intellectual property. The content of this website, including text, images, graphics, logos and design, belongs to UM Limited or the people who licensed it to us. You may view it, and print or save a copy for your own reference or your organisation's internal use. Please don't copy, republish or sell it without our written permission.
No reliance on general content. What's on this website is general information. It isn't advice for your situation, and it doesn't form part of any agreement with you unless your quote or agreement says so. We work to keep it accurate and up to date, but don't rely on it for a decision without talking to us first.
Other people's sites. This site links to websites we don't run. We link to them because they may be useful, not because we endorse them, and we're not responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your information.
Liability for the website. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website, from it being unavailable, or from relying on its general content. This doesn't affect work we do for you, which the Standard Terms cover, or any right you have that can't be excluded by law.
Governing law, changes and contact
New Zealand law. These terms and the Standard Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If we disagree, we'll first try to sort it out together, then by mediation in Auckland, as clause 23 of the Standard Terms sets out.
Versions and dates. We may update these terms. The version and date are shown on this page and on the Standard Terms. The version in force when your engagement starts applies to that engagement, unless we agree otherwise in writing. This page follows the Terms of Business at shavedmonkeys.nz/terms. The Standard Terms are kept in one place, with a PDF copy.
